We react to by contracting in against the cold. It’s normal but doesn’t actually help with keeping warm….
Training yourself to react differently can really help with tension and pain that gets worse in the colder months.

Tensing against the cold is an example of what I call an ‘energy vampire’. Just like some people can just drain the life out of you, so can the way we do things. Movements or reactions to everyday life, at work, at home, and even during what should be relaxing, are hard work when they don’t need to be, just out of habit.
We often don’t realise we are doing these things with more effort than is needed- it just feels like business as usual. But extra tension slapped on top of life doesn’t have to be the norm.
For instance, you can reduce the tension and pain that cold weather can create by reacting in the expansive way I talk about in the video.
Or you can draw everything close in without all the tension…. see my explanation below. Either way, don’t let muscle pain be aggravated by tensing against cold weather.
