Getting in touch with your body with check-ins: free breathing

Noticing and gently influencing your breathing is one of the best check-ins for getting a calming virtuous circle going with your body and brain. Soothe your brain with easy free breathing and it gets easier to manage your stress with your thinking.

And if you have back pain, chances are you guard yourself and that prevents nice free rib movement. Unlocking that guarding can help to start shifting pain.

You can do special breathwork if you want, but you really don’t have to: you can just stop restricting free breathing with your tension patterns.

I show you how in this video:

The idea of this check-in series

 • One body part a day for 5 days
 • A short video daily – with details and potential pitfalls
 • You try it with me, you can do this anywhere, even in public

Experiment with all 5, then pick the one that feels most helpful. Practise that one daily for 3 weeks and see what shifts.
